Our veterinary practice was originally established as a satellite clinic by Dr. Frank Bartus in 1963. His daughter and her husband, Dr. Michelle Bartus and Dr. Peter Nelson, joined him in business in 1984 and formed Valley Veterinary Service. Dr. Frank Bartus has since passed, but the clinic he started has grown into a full service small animal veterinary hospital serving the Monongahela Valley area with family pride. In August 2000, Valley Veterinary Service became a hospital member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). AAHA establishes standards of excellence in small animal practice and we are excited about meeting and exceeding those standards. At the close of 2023, Valley Veterinary became a member of the Inspire Veterinary Partner family.
Our Practice Philosophy
At Valley Veterinary Service, we believe that our business and talents are gifts from God. Therefore we dedicate our work efforts to God’s glory and to the serving of His kingdom.
Because we would not serve God by providing inferior services to you and your pet, we strive for excellence in our work. Our primary goal is to provide the excellent customer service with the highest quality of medical and surgical services in the Mon Valley. We are committed to helping you learn about your pet and the value of regular, preventive health care. We will work with you to ensure that your pet will not suffer because of preventable or undetected illness.
Our staff attends continuing education programs so that we can offer you the most advanced veterinary care. Each of us aims to serve you cheerfully and to make each visit pleasant for both you and your pet.
Thank you for your trust and confidence.
